For those who follow me on Instagram, I hope you remember this outfit that I posted in Montreal last weekend! This was my attempt at an incremental move towards wearing/posting Fall colors. I sure do hope it was a success [LOL] ! Ever since I started blogging, I’ve noticed that most of the outfits I wear follow a neutral color scheme. I love color, but never seem to pick it up in stores; oddly enough. With that said, I guess my color transition is not much of a shift at all. I should say my transition attempt to Fall wear is characterized by the boots and blazer to combat the evening chill. I styled my black and white tribal print shorts with this [honey] mustard blazer to bring some life into what would have been a virtually colorless look.I paired it with a grey top because it seemed the perfect transition color from the black/white to yellow – [without being too cliche and going with a black or white top]. I think mustard is a great Fall color! It resembles the changing colors of  leaves and adds an element of vibrancy without being too overbearing.

I like wearing season appropriate colors, not because I try to stay in line with unwritten ‘fashion rules’, but because I think it makes sense. Don’t get me wrong there are times in the Fall/Winter where I’ve been caught wearing a bright hued top or accessory balanced with neutrals; but on most occasions the weather doesn’t encourage me towards ‘summertime’ colors.

I hope you like this look! If you need a little help transitioning through September [If you live up North like I do], I would recommend adding a ‘mellow’ colored blazer to a look . In the evening a lightweight scarf and fedora style cap; paired with an ankle boot or ‘sneaks’ will do the trick in helping with temperature dropping. What you put on the bottom is up to you, just make sure to check the weather first!

Thanks for reading and look for the outfit details above. xx– Kouturekitten
