Life Plan | Y.L.I.F Philosophy

life plan

I’d like to share my simple approach to life planning and preparation with you today! Before you read on, I don’t profess to be an expert at developing  a life plan and/or and expert at decision making [I’m 23 so even if I proposed that I was, you wouldn’t believe me anyhow lol ]. Recently during one of my ‘over-thinking’ sessions I began to reflect on life and what mine would/could come to look like. What did I arrive at?, Nothing! I guess we all have a general idea of what our future may hold, given our surroundings and beliefs. As far as the details go and the experiences I will take part in – I have not the slightest idea! Somehow, in that moment of ambiguity, things have never seemed so clear.

I really don’t need to be an expert because my life really isn’t mine to direct. You want to know why I say this so bluntly? Well, I think about it this way. I don’t EVEN REALLY know what I’ll eat for supper tonight. I surely have an idea because I know what’s in the fridge, but I won’t know until I get home and start to work on the meal prep! I do have something in mind, but who’s to say I won’t get invited out to a fancy dinner this Monday evening lol. We can apply this same ‘mouth-watering’ analogy to our lives. This absence of control that we have as human beings is exactly why I can confidently say ‘my life isn’t mine to direct’.

I don’t say this insinuating that it is permissible to fail to plan; you wouldn’t want to do that. I have a plan; and I have a good idea of the places I wish to travel, the job I want to hold, and an idea of all the clothing items I’ve recently added to online wish lists that I can’t afford at the moment lol. When it comes down to it, I don’t know if the picture I’ve painted for my life will model the one God sculpted. I DO know that with a ‘you lead, ill follow’ planning approach I will be fine. In the book of Ecclesiastes, a teacher shares his experiences in life and oftentimes mentions that many things, fortunate and unfortunate, are beyond our comprehension. He shares that there is nothing new under the sun and that the details of our life are virtually meaningless if we do not commit to obedience and faith in God. Bad things happen to good people, and good things happen to bad people; but with the application of a Y.L.I.F philosophy – you can be sure that during times of good and bad, you will live according to a perfect plan for your life.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart – PSALM 37:4

The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth – PSALM 145:18

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future – PSALM  29:11

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path – PSALM 119:105

The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps – PROVERBS 16:9

Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain – PSALM 127:1

So today I challenge you to CHILL OUT lol – Breath because with a Y.L.I.F plan led by Christ, you are sure to arrive at a fantastic end. Work hard, never stop praying, put God first, love, and let God work out the rest. This world is too cruel to face alone. Leave room in your plans for God’s because he holds the ultimate plan according to his PERFECT arrangement.

Perfect post with perfect scriptures! As for you being 23 and not being an “expert” at “life planning” let me tell you that experiences come with age, but wisdom comes from God. Your post… It was wise! Great read!
