We all need somebody to lean on

psalm 121:2

Sometimes I stop and think about a life without help. What I mean by this is a life without the help and support of my family, friends, and most importantly my Lord and saviour Jesus! One thing I know is that we all need help, or will require it at some point in life. We all need somebody to lean on in tough times. The question is Where will you allow your help to come from”?

The truth about help is we are likely to receive the greatest aid from the people that we are closest to, the people who we have the most time invested in. This is why when family members provide help in trying situations; whether it be financial or emotional aid; it is expected. This is no different when receiving help from our heavenly father. You see, you are more likely to receive genuine assistance from those you have a relationship with and although God is gracious and good to all people, he provides unusually outstanding aid to those who serve him, love him, and acknowledge him as everlasting!

The Bible says in Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Now, I don’t know about you but when I look for an answer I’m not looking for a temporary fix. For example, sometime ago I was looking for a solution to a major problem I was facing in school. The nature of the solution to my problem would determine whether I would be able to continue, or not. Many people suggested routes for me to take, but I was looking for a bit more than an option. Yes, I needed help; but assistance that was attached to a major plan for my life. The only person that has and had that answer for me was Christ. I suggest God as the source to tap into for help because he’ll never provide you with a temporary fix. The solution he will bring your way considers the duration of your livelihood. As humans we do not have the answers to anything in our future. I don’t even know the events of my life an hour from now, and neither do you. Which is why I put my trust in God and get my aid from above. We all need somebody to lean on. Who will you choose? : )

Psalm 121:2 –

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
