Nivea Q10 plus skincare line review

nivea-skincare-q10

Hi! Thanks for joining me –

I’ve been aggressively trying to clear my skin since the beginning of Summer 2016. As a result, Ive been trying a lot of beauty products (especially skincare) and I’m excited to share some of them with you. I’m currently using 2 moisturizers right now and one of them is from the Nivea Q10 plus skincare line.

I started taking care of my skin because hyper pigmentation from acne scaring was taking over my face and chest (to a certain extent it still is). I wanted to see how I could improve the clarity of my skin with some intentionality! Now I know an anti aging skincare line wont cure hyper pigmentation, but I wanted to see if it would help with clarity.

This is my current regimen in this order:

  1. Cleanse with The Soap Works bentonite clay soap and a spin brush
  2.  Apply retinol serum
  3. Apply Nivea Q10 plus day cream with SPF 15
  4. Spot treat with a product with Hydroquinone (Every other day)
  5. Occasional use of the Nivea Q10 plus Replenishing Pearls

The Nivea Q10 plus day cream claims that it:

  • Increases the natural Q10 and Creatine levels, fights wrinkles from within and visibly smooths the skin.
  • Provides advanced wrinkle prevention: it helps supports the skin’s own anti-ageing processes.
  • Prevents external influences from creating new wrinkles through UVA protection and SPF 30

My experience:

The Nivea Q10 Plus Day Cream is a great product. I wasn’t using a moisturizer regularly before using this cream and since starting this I’ve noticed that the biggest benefit would how smooth my skin has become. My skin is hydrated, and not greasy which has made the overall texture softer and smoother. I wasn’t using a moisturizer because I have oily skin and was nervous moisturizers would aggravate and increase my oil production. I really like this product because it provides me with a dewy complexion without a greasy feel. It absorbs really well into the skin and leaves a more or less matte finish. Although it hasn’t done anything to target my dark spots, the SPF has helped to keep the spots from darkening. Especially, in June and July when the sun was most intense. I’m really happy about that because I wasn’t using an SPF before either! I know right, I’ve been soo misinformed.

Nivea says this product will provide advanced anti wrinkle prevention which I haven’t proved or disproved. I’m not at that stage of life yet. However, there is a high chance that it CAN do what it says because of all the moisture you get from this tiny jar!

The Nivea Q10 Plus Replenishing Pearls claims that it will:

  • Visibly reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Instantly smooth and soften skin
  • For a refined and younger-looking complexion
  • Prevents external influences from creating new wrinkles through UVA protection and SPF 30

My experience:

Onto the Nivea Q10 Plus Replenishing Pearls. I don’t use this product as much as the day cream. I use the moisturizer almost everyday and this one about once a week now. When I started using it I was using it every day and then decided I don’t need it right now. It’s supposed to visibly reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles and I don’t have any of that right now. I did find that this product doesn’t absorb the best into dark skin. It eventually does disappear, but not without much rubbing in my experience. This product is also very moisturizing and is right in line with the day cream on that front. Overall, my opinion on this would be to only use regularly if you have noticeable fine lines or wrinkles. This product has hyaluronic acid and creatine which I has the ability to hold and retain moisture and is key to preventing wrinkles.

I like this line overall and recommend it if your are trying to improve your skin texture and skin’s moisture retention!
